I made some red and green ones for a family and their newborn daughter in traditional red and green, and they turned out so cute!I also did a group of four for Faeriedtreasures, a wonderful etsy seller. She posted a picture of what they looked like in her home, and they are so cute!

You can also add embellishments to you stockings to make them even more personalized. You can choose owls, birdies, stars, or anything else that you would like. These stockings are $24 and you can find them at: ttp://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vl_other_2&listing_id=18453741

Im not sure it my stuff is really right for it, but, it is worth a try to get my passion for creation out there. So, I will give it a try, right? The site should be open within the month, so please keep an eye out for it, and let me know what you think, I would appreciate it!

Monsters, OH MY!!!!!

The winner of my November giveaway is an Etsy member that goes by the name of kelligilbert. Her website is http://www.kelligilbert.etsy.com/
and oh my, does she make some cute monsters.
I find these little creations, so wonderful, because I can find a personality in each one of these little fleece and felt creatures. The one that caught my eye is Glor and Mort.

Glor and Mort, you see, are my daughters in monster form.

Ruby would prefer to be attached at Delaney's hip, the little sister looking up at her big sister with a rotten smirk on her face, while Delaney is wondering, why she just won't leave her alone.

These little creatures are something I would definitely pick up for your children, grandchildren, or nieces or nephews, for their birthday, Christmas presents, or for a 'just because' day.

Whatever it is, you can't help to smile at these little guys.

I had the opportunity to ask Kelli a few questions about her inspirations and designs.

She is inspired by the success of the many of other Etsy members that share her passion. Her designs are inspired by cartoon characters, and the artists that draw their monsters. Their drawing and creativity give her the inspiration to keep making new monsters. The beauty of Kelli's craft is that it isn't about the money, it is about the creation. She is going to take things day by day to see where the monster road takes her.

Be sure to check out Kelli's monsters, I am sure that there is a little one that you will find a kinship with!

Craft Shows

I am in two craft shows this fall season.

If you find yourself in the Fort Wayne area, which few of my followers are,
I would love to see you there.
My shows are:
Saturday, November 1st at St. Charles Church, 4910 Trier Rd, from 8am to 4pm
and
Saturday, November 29th at St. Judes Church, 2130 Pemberton Drive, from 8am to 4pm
These are the first shows I have decided to do, so I am not sure what to expect. The last craft show I have been to was about 8 years ago, and I am hoping they are not the same,
because, I do not sell the usual craft show items. Sorry to disappoint but now grandma bent over in her garden wearing bloomers here!
Hopefully I will at least sell what my booth rent costs!!!
Wish me luck, and I hope to see you all there!

learned my lesson...

R.I.P. RUBY LANE DESIGNS...

so, i learned a valuable lesson today! not one i wanted to learn, but nonetheless i learned it...
i got up this morning and logged onto my etsy account this morning to see if i had any buys, and saw i had a new conversation. so, i checked it. it happened to be palmer marketing executive from www.rubylane.com. he was requesting information from me about my shop and wondered if i could send him my phone number. i thought this was awkward, so i googled his name and found a phone number, so i called him. and this is where the fun began....
he informed me that my shop was in violation of copyright infringement... and i had until the 31st of october to change everything and destroy anything that had ruby lane on it, unless i wanted to speak to his lawyer...
i just wanted to die...
so, now, to escape the clutches of a corporate lawsuit, i have a lot of work ahead of me in the next few weeks...
this means i need to design a new banner for my store, a new avatar for my chat and forum sites, business cards, retail tags, monogrammed tags for my purses, (which by the way i have to rip all of my bags apart to remove them)... so i feel buried... and on top of it all i have my first show on november first, and i am so behind! so, what a terrible, awful, horrible, no good, very bad day...
so what is this important lesson?
always search the US trademark database BEFORE you decide to start a business, even it it only based on your kitchen table...

obama met with his national security advisors...

so, it IS a scary time...
and the thing is, how can we be ok if we have sarah palin in office?
let's be realistic, john mccain is getting older. there is nothing wrong with that, but i have heard on the news that with his age and health ailments, he has a one in three chance of passing away in office. that means, ladies and gentlemen, we have a one in three chance of having
sarah palin as president.
DOES ANYONE ELSE SEE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS?!?!?!?!
what i want to know is how can we have someone as president that completely sets aside science? she puts her religion above science, and i dont think we need someone in office that lets her religious beliefs drive her presidential decisions. here is the main reason. she believes that dinosaurs were around about 5000 years ago. lets think about this... science has proved with out a doubt through carbon dating, a vitually unflawed system that this is not true. so because of the time line she believes from the bible, she is willing to set aside scientific fact.... what is next? she will have the ability to set aside any fact for a belief.... i just dont understand....
i really believe we need someone who keeps religion and state seperate. dont get me wrong, i respect people's strong religious beliefs. i believe that everyone could be right, and i also believe that everyone could be wrong... what we should be concerned with is that we are upholding the consitution, and doing what is right to uphold our rights as united states citizens, not what you think is moraly right according to your religion...
is this a completely insane idea?
am i alone here?
unless we are willing to put someone in office that organizes rallies to pray gay people straight... and believes this is possible...
what is next?

im proud of my husband...

so, my jon got a promotion at work!!!

i am so proud of him...

he works so hard, and is one of those people that can get along with pretty much anyone. i respect that, because, no matter what i try, that idea is nothing short of impossible for me. i have an admitted problem with authority.... i think it comes from being a mother. im in charge at home, and its hard to go to work and let someone be in charge of me....

anyway, he is a crane operator in the reversing mill now. He likes his new job alot, but is wondering already, 'what is next'? the big change is that now he has to swing shift and work evenings.

this is hard for me to adjust sleeping alone.

i feel like im the watch dog now, and i find myself sleeping on the couch. i used to wonder why my mother did this, and now, being married to a Steel Dynamics employee, i find myself in her position...

so, its 1:15 in the morning, and im on the couch watching national geographic channel. im watching: 'hooked again:monster fish!' yes, im cool. its actually very interesting... i have to say, a 1280lb hammerhead shark is pretty bad ass...

ruby is cutting her molars and she keeps waking up crying. i couldnt imagine cutting teeth again, think about it... it would hurt so bad, poor thing...

i really need to start sewing. i have an art show on nov. 1st and on the saturday after thanksgiving... wish me luck. im not sure what kind of inventory i need, but i have a feeling i will either have way to much, or not even close to enough. im going to take everything in my online store and everything off my retail rack at tangles... and i have quite an arsenal at home... so we will see.... but of tonight, i think that im going to cut out a few things, maybe that will make me tired enough to pass out on the couch, not to mention the 3 beers ive had... maybe that will make me tired....

thinking late at night...

my choice is what i choose to do, and if its causing no harm why should it bother you...
your choice is what you choose to be, and if you're causing no harm youre alright with me...
i enjoy this idea so much...
it makes me think... how about you?

whats the deal with blogging anyway?

so, i have decided to get a blog...
every where i go, it seems that is what the cool cats are doing...
so, in my desperate attempt to stay cool, i figured it was time. i also decided this month to join facebook, which seems it should be called high school reunion...
anyways, if there is anyone out there that does decide to read my blog, i hope you enjoy... its just about a mom who is obsessed new creations.
in my life this past couple of years, i have created a marriage, two children, and a small business, not to mention all the details in between.
